The word succession means the inheriting of a title, office or power.

Jesus Christ is the Eternal head of the Church and his headship shall undergo no succession. However, here on earth where he places men in leadership there must be times and seasons of succession.

As time passes by man is brought to the place where he has to deal with issues of succession whether willingly or unwillingly. The passing of time demands change in leadership and the need for succession. 

Understanding what God’s word reveals about succession will enable the Church make peaceful and smooth transitions and help it overcome the satanic attacks of splits, confusion and anxiety that the enemy throws at the church during times of transition.
